“I grew up living across the street from Alamance Community fire dept.  My best friends' father was a firefighter there and so we spent a lot of time at the fire station.  My neighbor at the time was also a volunteer and went on to be a paid member.  I have been close to it all my life and just knew that one day I wanted to be a part of the brother and sisterhood we call the fire service.

To those thinking of volunteering, I would say, we welcome you aboard to a very professional and strong organization.  It is a lot of hard work and a very time oriented profession.  It takes a lot of time away from your friends and family, but it also gives you a whole new set of friends and family.  There is nothing more rewarding than seeing people you have helped out in the world still going strong after seeing them at one of their weakest moments.”
